2 Samuel 6

David is a lot like me.  When God does the things I want, in the way I want it is easy and natural to celebrate Him.  When, however, He does things I do not like celebrating Him is much more difficult.

I also notice that where the presence of God is there is blessing.  In order to have the presence of God it comes at a price.  There are expectations to be met, obedience to be kept and trust to be given.

David almost missed the blessing because he was afraid.

People will mock and try to destroy the work God is doing, even those closest to you. Michal criticized David for his act of worship. His response was that he was chosen by the Lord for this task so he would obey & celebrate no matter other people's thoughts or feelings.

Obedience to God is the priority.

yeah I tend to get pissed at God when things don't go my way.. or when I am not being "blessed" for my actions. However, I now see more often that when I am not being blessed, it is because I am not being obedient. if we stay obedient in HIS presence we will reap the reward of HIS blessing.. most importantly we have to honor the ones anointed by GOD and follow their teachings.
